An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious, values‑driven leader to join our Senior Leadership Team as Deputy Headteacher at our independent SEMH secondary school in Fareham, Hampshire. This role is pivotal in shaping the culture, climate and holistic development of our students, driving excellence in safeguarding, behaviour, attendance and personal development.
As Deputy Headteacher, you will champion a safe, nurturing and aspirational environment where every pupil can thrive socially, emotionally and academically. You will work closely with the Headteacher and Governors to embed our vision, lead whole‑school improvement and ensure our pastoral and safeguarding systems are outstanding. You will also deputise for the Headteacher when required.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Clear, principled leadership that places student wellbeing, safety and inclusion at the heart of every decision.
- Strong expertise in leading behaviour, attendance, safeguarding and pastoral systems.
- The ability to create a positive, ambitious and supportive school culture.
- Confidence and competence as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring rigorous and compliant practice.
- Effective line management, with the skill to develop staff and deliver high‑quality CPD.
- The capacity to drive a consistently strong climate for learning across the school.
- Excellence in classroom practice, modelling high expectations and professional standards.
