Assistant Headteacher
Lead teacher of English and support of DH curriculum, teaching and learning
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an ambitious, values-driven leader to join our Senior Leadership Team as Assistant Headteacher at the recently founded independent SEMH secondary school in Fareham, Hampshire. This role is central to shaping the strategic direction of our school driving achievement in English and also to work closely with the deputy headteacher with responsibility for curriculum development, teaching and learning
The successful candidate will work closely with the Headteacher and Governors to deliver an ambitious vision for our students, staff and wider school community
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Strategic leadership with the ability to set direction and inspire others
- Expertise in developing an English curriculum which is broad enough to cater for a wide range of abilities
- Expertise in teaching of English and the ability to mentor non-specialists in the delivery of the English curriculum
- Ability to support the tracking of student progress and the development of a timetable which best supports the aim of high achievement for all both academically and socially
- Experience in conducting learning walks which capture the excellent delivery of staff in a variety of areas and enable this to be spread school wide as well as identifying where underperformance is happening and putting in place a support package focused on improvement
