Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Activity Coordinator with a Category D driving License to join our team. In this role, you will plan, organise, and lead a variety of activities designed to enrich the lives of our clients. Your creativity and energy will be essential in fostering a supportive and engaging atmosphere. This position requires flexibility and the ability to work across multiple locations, including our Community Centre and small residential/nursing homes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a diverse range of activities tailored to the interests and needs of our residents.
- Coordinate and lead group and individual activities that promote social interaction, physical health, mental stimulation, and emotional well-being.
- Work collaboratively with residents, their families, and care teams to ensure activities are inclusive and therapeutic.
- Maintain detailed records of activity participation and resident's progress, providing reports as needed.
- Manage activity budgets, sourcing materials, and coordinating logistics for activities and outings.
- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers who assist with activity programs.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies during all activities.
- Regularly assess and adjust activities to meet the evolving needs of our clients.
- - Foster a positive and inclusive environment, encouraging maximum client participation and engagement.
- Participate in regular training and complete the care certificate within 6 months.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as an activity coordinator or similar role, ideally within a mental health or care setting.
- Qualification in health and social care, therapeutic recreation, occupational therapy, or a related field is desirable.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate clients.
- Creative and adaptable, with a genuine passion for improving the lives of individuals with mental health needs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Understanding of mental health issues and a compassionate approach to working with vulnerable individuals.
- **Valid Cat D Driving License** is essential for transporting clients and facilitating off-site activities.
