Job Overview

Lead with Care, Inspire with Purpose

At Premier Care Management, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive. As the Registered Manager, you'll be responsible for the overall care and operation of the home, ensuring that every child feels secure, supported and valued. Your leadership will shape the home's success, fostering an environment where children can heal and staff feel empowered to deliver the best possible care.

Your Role

Your role is about more than managing a home - it's about creating a place where children feel they belong. You'll be:

  • Leading and inspiring your team to ensure the needs of the children are central to every decision and action, creating a nurturing and stable environment.
  • Implementing PCM's policies and procedures, aligning them with the home's Statement of Purpose to maintain the highest standards of care and compliance.
  • Developing individual care plans that focus on each child's unique needs and strengths, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborating with external professionals, families and carers to create a holistic support system that promotes positive outcomes for each child.
  • Serving as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), taking a proactive role in safeguarding and ensuring that every child in the home feels protected and cared for.
  • Managing the home's budget and resources effectively, ensuring that financial planning aligns with the needs of the children and the home's operational goals.
  • Overseeing staff development, conducting supervisions, appraisals and training to ensure your team has the knowledge, skills and support to excel in their roles.

What We're Looking For

You're not just a manager - you're a mentor and a friend. We're looking for someone who:

  • Brings at least two years of experience managing a children's home, ideally with a Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification or a commitment to obtain one. You know how to create a warm, welcoming environment that feels like home.
  • Understands the challenges faced by children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and approaches trauma with patience and empathy.
  • Communicates effortlessly with children, staff and external partners, fostering trust and collaboration to support every child's journey.
  • Knows the regulatory framework inside and out, including the Children's Homes Regulations 2015, the Children's Act 1989 and Ofsted's standards, using them as a foundation for exceptional care.
  • Thinks creatively to enhance the living experience for children, always seeking new ways to innovate and improve.
  • Holds a full UK manual driving licence and the right to work in the UK.
