Job Title: Intervention Support Worker - Alternative to Education Provision

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children and young people who need a different kind of support to thrive?

At Juventas, we're looking for committed and compassionate Support Workers to join our growing team in our Alternative to Education service. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a service designed to support children who may not be thriving in mainstream education and need tailored support with their social, emotional, and learning needs.

What you'll do:

  • Provide 1:1 and 2:1 support for children and young people, helping them achieve their goals through bespoke educational and emotional programmes.
  • Create a nurturing, safe, and structured environment, where every child feels seen, heard, and supported.
  • Work flexibly across a 24/7 rota, including times of crisis, to ensure young people receive consistent, quality care.
  • Be a keyworker, leading on reviews, risk assessments, and care planning.
  • Support children to build positive relationships, manage their emotions, and engage in education and meaningful activities.
  • Maintain high standards of recording, communication, and safeguarding in line with the SEND Code of Practice, Alternative Provision Guidance, and Juventas policies.
  • Collaborate with multi-agency professionals and contribute to effective team working.

About you:

  • You have experience working with children and young people, particularly those with SEND, SEMH needs, or in alternative education or care settings.
  • You are resilient, patient, and emotionally intelligent - able to stay calm under pressure and offer consistent care and support.
  • You are confident in handling safeguarding concerns and managing challenging behaviour restoratively.
  • You believe in giving every child a chance and are committed to building trusting, empowering relationships.
  • You're organised, reliable, and ready to work flexibly as part of a supportive, passionate team.

Why Join Juventas?

✔ You'll work in a role where no two days are the same
✔ Be part of an organisation that truly values its staff and the young people it supports
✔ Receive ongoing training and professional development opportunities
✔ Help shape an exciting new service designed to meet the real needs of young people
