Juventas is looking for a Residential Childcare Practitioner to assist in the running of our four-bed Registered Children's Home based in March.
The role
Juventas cares for looked-after children in residential and semi-independent supported accommodation so they can live a positive and meaningful life as they approach adulthood.
As Residential Childcare Practitioner you'll be:

Ensuring that all children and young people have their needs met and are safeguarded from harm, neglect, abuse or exploitation

Responding to any child care concerns appropriately

Ensure that the building, equipment and furniture in the home is well maintained.·

Working effectively and co-ordinate with social workers, parents/guardians and other connected professional agencies
The ideal candidate
You'll have:

At least 1 year's experience working with young people in a similar environment

Full UK driving licence

Level 3 qualification in Social Care (Young People) or willingness to work towards this upon successful probation

A good understanding of Ofsted key framework and standards, preferably through previous work experience within a similar setting

The ability to relate to and communicate with children

An understanding of a child's development including physical and emotional needs
-
The ability to work with children who may have suffered past trauma and/or have significant attachment needs
-
An understanding of and commitment to reflective practice
-
An ability to identify the needs of children
-
An ability to undertake regular sleep-ins
-
An ability to organise own workload and meet targets
-
An ability to contribute to a team approach to service delivery and problem solving

An understanding of safeguarding children
-
An understanding of equality and diversity
