Job Overview
Hugo is looking for a creative, active, and joyful person to come and work for him and help build his 'Gloriously Ordinary Life'. You'll join a team who will work a mixture of 1:1 and 2:1 with Hugo, both at his home, out and about locally and supporting him during his time with his tutors. Being able to 'get' Hugo is perhaps more important than experience, or if you are experienced and need a new challenge where you can make a real difference as part of a genuinely Hugo-centered team, then this could be the role for you.
Hugo is a young man who enjoys music and sound and loves acoustically magnificent spaces and his regular intensive interaction music making sessions. He loves to be in the water, loves being read a good book and he likes to share a giggle. We want to help Hugo to open up his world whilst supporting his education, and social care needs.
Hugo is making new routines for himself after recently leaving school, and values consistency, predictability and a clear sense of control. You will be a part of a new team and will have the support of a family who are passionate advocates for Hugo.
You will need to be robust and resilient as Hugo can sometimes garb and throw things as a way of communicating how he feels. Hugo will require personal care and has a communication plan in place to support him to understand his world and communicate with those supporting him.
Hugo needs someone who will not walk away when the going gets tough. Once you have bedded in you will find the enjoyment in being part of Hugo's world to be the ultimate reward for your perseverance.
