Must hold a full UK driving licence in addition must enjoy and can participate in outdoor pursuits.
Joe is registered blind however that does not hold him back. He loves the outdoors and enjoys walking over rough terrain, cycling, kayaking and swimming it is important for his emotional and physical wellbeing. Joe lives in his own home in Plymouth with a very well established team, he has full support around his daily lifestyle and managing his home and health.
Joe's family are close by and they are very important to him, it is essential you work to maintain and support these relationships. Joe is looking for someone who can use initiative, think on their feet, be enthusiastic and motivated to enable Joes busy active lifestyle. As a support worker you will need to be able to work alone and as part of a team, you will need to use initiative to ensure Joes immediate needs are met. In addition to the great days you may also face some more challenging days as Joe struggles with his communication, at times this will be displayed with physical behaviour that may challenge.
You must be open to learning, ongoing training and personal development.
