We are truly centred around the people we support and know that for us to achieve this we must continuously invest in all staff's personal development and progress. Due to growing demand, you will be joining us at an exciting period of development where we look to expand our support to more people.

As an Assistant Service Leader, you would be responsible for leading three individual teams and work directly with the people supported (minimal of 15 hours a week) with the rest of the contracted hours office based. You will play an important role of overseeing the running of the services, as well as having direct involvement when needed. You will work closely with Senior Service Leader, acting as their second- in- command to ensure operational continuity and decision-making authority in their absence.

This role is a progressive leadership position that will be evolving alongside the planned organisational growth. You will have an excellent mentorship from our experienced Senior Service Leader and dedicated team of our central support services with the prospects of advancing within the organisation.

There are on call duties shared with the senior management team as part of this role.

Main purpose of the role will be to:

  • Lead, inspire and develop three teams to ensure quality of the service provided to people we support.
  • Support and mentor Team Leaders and Senior Support Workers to build leadership, capability, and foster accountability.
  • Champion a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and self-direction.
  • Provide direct support to people as and when required.
  • Hold on calls for the service and wider organisation.
  • Assist with development of new services.
  • Work closely with Senior Service Leader to implement strategic goals, drive change initiatives, and align teams with organisational mission.

You will ideally need the following:

  • Relevant leadership experience ideally leading support teams.
  • Have a good understanding of Care Sector policies and legislation.
  • Have a real commitment to the values of inclusion and person-centred working.
  • Be flexible and demonstrate commitment.
  • The ability to be responsive to the need of people we support.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have the ability to negotiate and communicate effectively with staff at all levels within the organisation, families, professionals and other relevant people.
  • Be self-directive and have the ability to take and delegate responsibility effectively.
  • Have the ability to influence and represent the organisation confidently.
  • Have good IT and computer skills.
