The role – what you’ll be doing

As Home Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management, quality and performance of the service.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading person-centred care: Ensuring each individual receives personalised support that promotes independence, dignity, choice, wellbeing and quality of life.
  • Regulatory compliance and governance: Maintaining compliance with Welsh care legislation, including the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016 (RISCA), relevant regulations and Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) requirements.
  • Safeguarding and risk management: Ensuring safeguarding concerns, incidents and accidents are managed appropriately, investigated where necessary and escalated without delay.
  • Leading your team: Managing recruitment, induction, supervision, performance, training, development and staff rotas to ensure safe and effective staffing.
  • Quality assurance: Maintaining accurate records, completing audits, monitoring standards and ensuring the service is always prepared for inspections.
  • People management: Creating a positive working environment where staff feel supported, accountable and motivated to deliver excellent care.
  • Operational management: Overseeing budgets, resources, health and safety, care documentation and contractual requirements.
  • Continuous improvement: Identifying areas for development, implementing action plans and ensuring lessons are learned from incidents, audits and feedback.
  • Leadership and accountability: Working closely with the Responsible Individual and Managing Director, providing clear updates, escalating concerns promptly and ensuring agreed actions are completed.

You will be expected to lead with integrity, demonstrate openness and transparency, and ensure that the people we support remain at the heart of every decision.

What we’re looking for

  • A commitment to person-centred care, continuous improvement and positive outcomes.
  • The ability and willingness to undertake on-call duties and work flexibly when required.

You must be eligible for registration with Social Care Wales and actively maintain the registration required for the role.

A relevant management qualification in health and social care is desirable, alongside a commitment to ongoing professional development.
