Due to the growth of our Supported Accommodation provision in Portsmouth, Sportfit is looking for outstanding Support Manager who is passionate about providing children with high quality, safe and effective support.

Your role as Support Manager will be key in supporting our children and ensuring that we promote growth, to maximise their potential and independence.

You will be a full and active participant and role model in the work of the team, demonstrating best practice. You will also provide day to day support, guidance, and direction to your team members.

What we are looking for: Essential Requirements

    • Diploma Level 3 or above in Children and Young People or Health & Social Care (or equivalent) or working towards
    • Experience of working with challenging behaviour and children at risk of exploitation.
    • Experience and working knowledge of supported accommodation Ofsted regulations
    • Strong working knowledge and understanding of safeguarding processes support planning, health and safety and risk assessments.
    • Ensure that staff are aware of the individual needs of all young people and deliver the support required to ensure life chance opportunities and positive holistic development.
    • You will write and speak with ease
    • Passionate about making a genuine difference in the lives of children and staying positive and seeing the best in them.
    • Good problem-solving skills.
    • Be able to motivate staff and support them to meet their goals and objectives.
    • Be able to recognise good performance and identify and manage potential issues at an early stage
    • Able to manage own team and workload, ensuring priorities and deadlines are met.
    • Excellent computer literacy skills - able to confidently use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlooks and CHARMS etc)
    • Must be, reliable and punctual with excellent time keeping and time management skills
    • Ambitious quick learner and able to work of your own initiative and well as part of a team
    • Full UK Driving licence with access to a car and business insurance as travel is required for this role
    • Fully flexible from Monday to Friday - and weekends when needed to cover staff absences including bank holidays and the ability to take part in the on-call rota which covers evenings and weekends.
