Residential Support Worker

Position Overview - We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a resilience and strong commitment to trauma-informed care and be passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of children who have experienced adversity. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing emotional support, guidance, and nurturing care.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide direct support and care to children who have experienced trauma, fostering a safe and nurturing environment.
- Being reflective in your approach as an individual and within a team setting.
- Assist with the development and implementation of individualized care plans for each child, focusing on their unique needs and strengths.
- Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging trust, empathy, and emotional regulation.
- Participate in regular training and workshops to enhance your knowledge and skills in trauma-informed care and related areas.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to the care and progress of the children.
- Collaborating closely with colleagues and families to ensure holistic care
- Contributing to the seamless operation of the home, from household chores to financial management
- Encouraging our children to explore new horizons and embrace their individuality.
- Being a listening ear and a source of encouragement
- Celebrating every milestone achieved by the children
- Guiding the children towards independence while fostering self-belief and resilience
We're looking for individuals who are:
- Understand trauma-informed care, principles, and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and colleagues.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanour.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when necessary.
- Flexibility to adapt to the evolving needs of the children and the organisation.
- Relevant qualifications in Childrens Residential Care or related fields are desirable.
- Having an understanding around a PACE/DDP Model of Care is desirable.
- Experienced in working with vulnerable children or within similar environments
- Flexible and adaptable to varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Holder of a valid UK driving licence
