Dimensions Care is looking for an experienced Residential Care Practitioner to work with individual young people in our residential home in the Midlands.


The role

Dimensions Care aims to create the most forward-thinking care approach by developing attachments with our children and to ensure that's embedded in our serving community.

We're now looking for a Residential Care Practitioner to help build and promote a safe environment where children feel valued and secure, relationships are positive and the focus is on feelings and emotions rather than displayed behaviours.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Taking responsibility for the day-to-day tasks within the home, using your initiative and working as part of a team

  • Understanding the needs of each young person, their history and trauma

  • Promoting a positive, open and reflective culture within the home which actively supports the positive holistic development of the children/young people within the home

  • Ensuring the ongoing assessment of children and young people's needs in day-to-day practice

  • Supporting with tasks within the home such as quality assurance and regulatory visits

  • Actively promoting structure, boundaries and routines within a safe and nurturing environment, being aware of the two hands of parenting

  • Providing a positive role model for the young people, presenting oneself in a highly professional manner

  • Ensuring that all care plans and reports reflect the model of care used

  • Ensuring the delivery of all key worker areas and responsibilities including delivery of direct work

  • Representing the home at reviews and or meetings where needed

  • Working in partnership and develop professional working relationships with colleagues, other agencies and professionals to meet the needs of young people and their families

  • Fulfilling sleep-in duties in accordance with the agreed rota

  • Showing a willingness to undertake appropriate training as part of overall professional development

  • Carrying out any other reasonable and relevant duties as required including leading shifts in the absence of senior colleagues

  • Ensuring effective service delivery in line with the policies and procedures of the Home and the Company

  • Working in accordance with the Children's Homes Regulations, other statutory guidance, and cooperate with any inspection process

  • Overseeing, writing and editing all reports when submitted for meetings and reviews, ensuring they reflect the DDP model

A full UK driving license is essential for all roles

About us

Based in the Midlands, Dimensions Care offers specialist residential care services for children with social, emotional and mental health needs. Many of these children have experienced trauma, neglect or abuse resulting in challenging behaviours.
